Fond · Vopis · Sprava is a free guide to archival records about Belarus: one search across the fonds, inventories and files of several archives.
What it is
Every archival document has an address: archive → fond → inventory → file. This site collects those addresses from open sources, adds what the sources themselves lack (whether a file is digitized or withheld from the reading room), and offers one fast search in Cyrillic and Latin script.
There are no scans here and there will not be: we show where a document is kept and link to the source. The project is non-commercial during the beta; some researcher tools will become paid later, while everything taken from open sources stays free.

File titles for NHAB and LVIA come from the volunteer project Velikie Opisi, where thousands of people transcribe archival inventories by hand. Without their work this site would not exist.
The "digitized" and "not issued" marks come from the inventories themselves and from public lists published by the archives; every record shows its source and when it was last refreshed.
Data last updated: September 23, 2026.
Planned: the fond catalogue of the Belarusian state archives, NHAB in Hrodna, Polish and Ukrainian archives, the FamilySearch catalog, and a gazetteer of settlements and parishes.
Free and paid
Search, all record pages, source links and statuses are free, without registration, permanently.
A paid researcher plan will come later: collections and notes, alerts about changes in inventories, full-text search over scanned inventories, place-based search, export. These are derived tools, not the data itself.
How to cite
Cite the archive, not this site: the URL of a file is permanent, but scholarly practice is to quote the archival reference.
